Harlow Brooks

Co-Founder

Harlow Brooks has found her footing through the stories she has collected throughout her life. She was raised in Healdsburg, California, a small wine town in Northern California where the connectedness of her tight-knit community became the inspiration for the specific yet wide-reaching narratives. Harlow focuses on painting worlds with strong female leads, because it is what she knew growing up with a single mother. Her debut short film, A Touch of Sexual Assault, has been shown in conferences globally dealing with the issue of violence against women, along with reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers online. During her time at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Harlow’s filmmaking has reached a new maturity and level of complexity that she accredits to the support she has received from her talented faculty and peers.

Ben Ephraim

Co-Founder

Born and raised in Annandale, Virginia, Ben Ephraim is an independent producer based in Los Angeles, CA. After graduating from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Ben started out his career in the industry as a Showrunner’s assistant for the upcoming Netflix series, SOMETHING VERY BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN. Following his work on that show, he went on to assist the President of Upside Down Pictures (the Duffer Brothers’ production banner). Since then, he has been promoted to the role of Coordinator, working across the company’s development and production slate, including the final season of STRANGER THINGS. With a background in both physical production and film and TV development, Ben brings a rare blend of experience in both creative and physical producing. Growing up Filipino and biracial in a predominantly white Virginia suburb, Ben is inspired by stories of identity, activism, and social change. He was a recipient of the Audience Award at the 2024 Pan African Film Festival and the 2024 NAACP Image Award for his producing work on the short film SUPERMAN DOESN’T STEAL. He’s received an official selection for the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker showcase at the Cannes Film Festival, and his most recent work on the feature film, THREE COLORS: PAN AFRICAN is set to premiere at the 2026 Slamdance Film Festival. Ben’s producerial work has been showcased at other film festivals such as St. Louis International, Micheaux, Dances With Films, Cleveland International, VisionFest, and the Shorts to Features program at The Gotham Week Project Market. With his penchant for independent filmmaking and the vast network he has grown within the studio system, he hopes to merge his two worlds to bring niche and exciting projects and filmmakers to new heights.
